- Increased membership countrywide to 2.5
Million. Their membership fees enabled KPDP to acquire,
furnish and manage a well-run secretariat with a core staff
fire and a further volunteer staff of twenty (20) who include
specialist project consultants.
- Participated in the government review
Commission on laws addressing Key issues affecting people
with disabilities.
- Acquisition of 13.5 acres of land from
the government of Kenya for the Government of Kenya for
the actualization of KPDP’s activities.
- Acquisition and distribution of over
500 wheelchairs worth Ksh. 60 Million to persons with disabilities
across the country.
- Successfully sourcing for a micro-finance
grant of Ksh. 4,000,000 from the Episcopal Relief Foundation
of New York for the Pilot Micro-finance project in Western
Kenya.
- Successfully, conducted and concluded
a one-week micro-finance and Business Training Workshop
as a precondition for business loan consideration to 300
members involved in the Micro-finance Pilot Project.
- Given logistics and financial support
to over 32, destitute but bright students with disabilities
both in Secondary (30) and University (2).
